Lesezeichen
Using a table as a bookmark? Why not!
Designer Lukas Heintschel has created a side table for book lovers for the brand Auerberg. The triangular crossbar is designed to hold open books, magazines, and newspapers, ensuring that the current reading material is always at hand and opened to the right page. The additional tabletop provides space for setting down a drink, for example, and the table can also be easily carried through the living room like a tray, thanks to the crossbar.
The “Lesezeichen” (German for bookmark) side table itself, with its clear design language, evokes the form of a typographical symbol and brings to mind associations with temple architecture and shrines, where the books sit on the gable like birds.
